Dovepaw is one of the main characters in this new project I'm working on. She's young, and very excitable. When I animate her she's more bouncy and very fluffy. I'd like her voice to reflect that. A young, girl voice is what I'm looking for, with a hint of whimsy. When I write out her character I give her more bounce and energy than what is in the books. I want a person willing to exaggerate a bit with the emotion.

Practice Lines:

1. white: *little chuckle* I'm sure everyone will be there.
   
2. dove: they better! they'll be watching the two best warriors to ever grace thunderclan become apprentices!
   
3. dove: dovekit, the cat who can take on the whole of shadowclan with one paw behind her back, AND claws sheathed!  
   
4. dove: and ivykit, fastest and quietest hunter in all the clans! not one mouse will ever escape her claws!

1. dove: it's almost tiiiime!
   
2. dove: (run it together) oh my stars this is so exciting we are gonna hunt and fight and run and its gonna be SO COOL and- HEY (whitewing licks her head)

Ivypaw is another main character in this project. I've made her more shy than Dovepaw. Since they are sisters, I'm looking for the same age-range sounding voice. She's more reserved in her words, but still young and happy. Get's flustered easily but acts fine around Dovepaw.

1. ivy: this is it…
2. ivy: I'm going to trip, or forget something, or mess up somehow..

1. ivy: Me and dovekit were scoping out where we want our nests to be!
2. dove: Yeah, AND we'll be apprentices any day now. So we deserve to be in here!
3. ivy: We're gonna sleep next to each other, train next to each other and do everything together through our apprenticeship!

 


Lionblaze is the third main character in the project. I think off him as in his high teens. I've given him a bit of a teasing side but overall he is a pretty straightforward personality type. Kind and loyal. 

1. lion: Dovekit and Ivykit are also Firestar's kin, remember? It's possible the prophecy was always talking about one of them as well.
   
2. lion: why don't you ask starclan about it next time you go to moonpool? *chuckles* maybe you're so stressed because you've got a bee stuck in your brain and can't think straight.
   
3. jay: Shut up! We don't even know if the prophecies from Starclan you mousewit.
   
4. lion: Ahh… if you keep that up I won't be able to tell you apart from a stick in the mud!

1. lion: at the last gathering, tensions were high. it's the middle of greenleaf so everyone's already restless from the heat. But lately, it hasn't rained a bit.
2. lion: not even the medicine cats know why there has been a drought. Jayfeather says StarClan hasn't told him anything.

 

Jayfeather is the final main character. He's prickly and annoyed easily. I'm not sure exactly how much of anything I'm looking for for him, so the boat is pretty open.

1. jay: lionblaze! do you know if brightheart found any comfrey? She said she was going to look for some for me.

1. jay: Shut up! We don't even know if the prophecies from Starclan you mousewit.
   
2. lion: Ahh… if you keep that up I won't be able to tell you apart from a stick in the mud!
   
3. jay: Leave before I tear off one of your whiskers.
   
4. lion: *as he's dashing away* *laughs* I'll go check on brightheart for you.
   
5. jay: *yelling to him* *humf* It'll be the most useful you've been all day!

 

Cinderheart is about the same age as Lionblaze, so I'm also looking for a high teens voice. She is very bouncy as well in this animation, and is optimistic. She jokes around a bit.

1. cinder: it's no secret that the drought is affecting riverclan more than other clans. since their main source of food is fish, and the lake has been shrinking every day, no wonder she is on edge.

1. cinder: (sarcastic sorta) you know what, riverclan might be onto something. from this day forth, thunderclan claims all the squirrels by the lake! shadowclan has to give all their squirrels to us every sun down, or we'll use force to get them ourselves!

Yellowfang has a lot of speaking in the beginning. I imagine her with an older voice, and a sharp tinge to most of her words. Wise nonetheless.

1.  yellow: *humh* I will send an omen.
   
2. yellow: an omen of the stars.
   
3. spotted: which cat will you send it to?
   
4. feather: Lionblaze, or Jayfeather?
   
5. yellow: *hmpf* neither.
   
6. yellow: I will send it to the third cat.
   

   

I would like Lionheart to have a deeper voice. He hasn't got many lines in the project.

1. lion: have faith, bluestar. these cats are good, and have proven their loyalty many times over.
   

I would like Feathertail to have a teenage girl voice. She is worried, but optimistic. 

1. feather: that's furthest from the truth! not only are jayfeather and lionblaze crowfeather's sons, but the prophecy affects every one of our clanmates around the lake.
   
2. feather: I grieve for hollyleaf as much as if she was my own kit. I have to watch over them.

Whitewing is Dovepaw and Ivypaws mother. She teases them. I'd like her to have an older female voice.

1. white: *little chuckle* I'm sure everyone will be there.

1. white: (after play fighting) stop! you two just got clean and now look at you. Come here dovekit.

I'm not sure how many lines rainstorm will have in this upcoming episode, but he will definitely have a few. Young teen male voice.

1. rain: (running past group) prey-stealer! leave that alone, that fish is ours!

1. rain: I can't get out! Everything I do just makes me sink farther into the mud!

Leopardstar is an older character. She is sick in this animation, but still trying to be strong. She is aggravated and easily provoked.

1. leopard: you have all been taking fish from the lake! and those fish.. belong to riverclan!

1. leopard: the fish in the lake belong to riverclan. Any cat who tries to take them will feel our claws.
   
2. leopard: from now on, I will instruct our border patrols to include the area around the water on every side.

Thornclaw has a small part. He is older than lionblaze, but could still work with a same age sounding voice. He is easily angered.

1. lion: (to thornclaw) trouble?
   
2. thorn: (panting) yeah, berry for brains and spiderleg got stuck in the mud and I need a stick or something to get them out.

1.  thorn: shut up,  go back to camp, and get clean. 

Berrynose is very over the top. He could work with a younger boy voice. Complains a lot and thinks highly of himself.

1. berry: (after getting out) *guaaah*! it's worse than I thought! I'm going to be permanently brown from the belly down for the rest of my life!

1. berry: Jayfeather, Poppyfrost is carrying my kits. She needs to be moved to the nursery immediately.
   
2. jay: I understand, let me just-
   
3. berry: Not until she's out of harm's way. I don't want anything happening to her or the kits. You better make sure she won't be in any pain or anything bad happens.

Very polite and quiet. Doesn't have many lines, but when he complains it is a quiet protest.

1. spider: you are over-reacting.. like always.
   
2. berry: easy for you to say! the mud hasn't even brushed your belly, AND you have short fur on top of it!
   
3. spider: I have flecks all over me because YOU keep squirming… 
   

Leader of Thunderclan. Wistful voice. Like the nice old grandpa. Pacifist. Older Male would be ideal.

1. fire: dovekit, from this day until you receive your warrior name, you will be called dovepaw.
   
2. fire: starclan, I asked you to guide this new apprentice. Set her paws on the path she must follow to become a warrior.
   
3. fire: Lionblaze, you will be mentor to Dovepaw. You are a loyal warrior and your battle skills are outstanding. I know that you will pass these qualities on to Dovepaw.

These two only have one or two lines in this episode. Both are leaders of their respective groups. Onestar should sound younger than Blackstar. Both are males.

1. black: no, they don't. the lake borders all our territories. we're just as entitled to the fish as you are.
   
2. one: especially now! we're all starving because of the drought. prey is scarce all around the lake. fish is the only thing keeping us from starving!

Ferncloud, Poppyfrost, and Birchfall all have little parts, although they appear frequently throughout the project.

Ferncloud and Poppyfrost are Younger Females (although ferncloud is older than poppyfrost) and Birchfall is a male.

1. poppy: Berrynose! Please forgive him, jayfeather. He's been very antsy ever since I told him.

1. fern: it won't be long, I promise. We wouldn't miss it for the world.

1. birch: come on, the clan's waiting for you two. You two will be great.
